With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Esther M. Helmuth of Wakarusa, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 1, 2025 at the age of 102. Though Esther may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Esther touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Schwartz and Emma Schwartz (Miller); her husband Henry J. Helmuth; her grandson Brooks Helmuth; and her siblings, Ervin Schwartz, Lydia Mae Burkey, Ray Schwartz, Clara Kilmer and Amanda Weaver.
She is survived by: her son Phillip Helmuth (Diane); and her sisters, Lora Yoder (William) and Nora Welty. She is also survived by 2 step grandchildren; 2 step-great- grandchildren; 6 step great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home (950 N Main St, Nappanee, IN 46550-1002). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
