He was predeceased by: his parents, Chauncey Birky and Lelah Birky (Kauffman); his wife Arlene F. Birky (Hartman); and his brother-in-law Dan Oury. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Duane Birky (Angie), Pamela Klotz (Phil) and Patricia Birky; his grandchildren, Blake Klotz, Megan Klotz and Kassie; and also Joyce Oury.
