He is survived by: his wife Nancy Birk of Wakarusa; his sons, Steve Birk (Jaclyn) of Elkhart and Scott Birk (Kim) of Wakarusa; his grandchildren, Cameron, Matthew, Madelyn and Ryan Birk; his sister Shirley Davidhizar of Huntsville, TX; and his sister-in-law Janice Birk of Simpsonville, SC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
