He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril R. Lahr and Laura Stetzel Lahr. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Stinson Lahr; his children, Nathan Briles (Veronica) of Warren and Kristi Carey of Huntington; his grandchildren, Natalie Briles, Sophia Briles, Arley Carey and Adam Carey; his great grandchildren, Sailor Carey and River Carey; and his sister Susan Eng of Hartland, WI. He is also survived by three nieces and one nephew.
