He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolly Madeline Puckett (Holbrook) and Rebel Nelson; and his son Nathan Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Sherri Lynn Nelson; his children, Jason Nelson (Charity), Tyler Fox and Jody Sisk; his grandchildren, Nathan, Alex, Jason, Stephanie, Josh, Clayton, Sirus and Linxi; and his siblings, Randy Nelson and Sandy (Roger).
