He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Wachter and Ruth Wachter (Smothers); and his nephew Michael Kriewall. He is survived by: his sister Nancy Kriewall (Wachter); his wife Nyla Kathleen Nelson; his brother Kenneth; his siblings-in-law, Wanda Wachter, Jim Kriewall, Robert and Ronald Nelson; his children, Mary (Jeff Hayes), Melissa (Cameron Dobson) and Steve (Stephanie Wachter); his siblings-in-law, Judy Nelson, Rich (Ka Nelson), Norita (Steve Cunningham), Nancy (Jim Hopkins) and Kelly DeDecker (Nelson); his grandchildren, Vicki (Hayes), David Erdely, Will, Amber Hayes, Brittany Dobson, McKenzie Dobson, Caleigh Smith (Josh Smith), Emily Wachter, Jakob Wachter and Andrew Wachter; and his great grandchildren, Addison, Cooper Smith and Henry Hayes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
