It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Byron J. Meade of West Lafayette, Indiana, born in Danville, Illinois, who passed away on October 22, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan J. Meade and Caroline Clem Meade; and his brother Laurel Meade. He is survived by: his wife Jolene Meade; his children, Jill Meade (Doug Barnett) of Farmington Hills, MI and Stuart Meade (Julia King) of Goshen, IN; the mother of his children Joy Mitchell (Jim) of Lafayette, IN; his stepdaughters, Janelle Dunfee (Doug) of Delphi, IN and Janilyn Layton (Richard) of Rossville, IN.; and his granddaughters, Kayla Jutkiewicz (Mike), Taylor Mears (Ben), Kinsie Bailey (Clayton), Maya Meade (Kevin Hinkle), Kaitlyn Layton (Clint Myers), Melanie Barnett and Abigail Barnett. He is also survived by two great-granddaughters and eight great-grandsons.
