He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Applebee and Etta Jane Applebee (Wilkeson). He is survived by: his sons, Zachary Applebee and Neil Applebee; and his siblings, Margaret Kelley, Steven Applebee, Jean Stewart, John Applebee, James Applebee and Amanda Applebee.
