We are sad to announce that, on January 24, 2026, at the age of 71, Iris Dean (West Lafayette, Indiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Batta and Lucy Batta (Flack); her husband Gregory Dean; and her nephew Zachary LaGuire. She is survived by: her children, Geoffrey Dean (Christine) of Virginia, Jason Dean (Kathleen) of New Jersey and Kristine Dean of California; her sister Kay Batta of West Lafayette; her sisters-in-law, Rebecca Schnepp (Gary) of Lansing, MI, Loni LaGuire (Randy) of Lafayette, Melissa Greek (Brent) of Orient, OH, Marcia Southerland of Miamisburg, OH and Valerie Coffey (Wes) of League City, TX; and her grandchildren, Gabriel, Gerrie and Nora. She is also survived by children and grandchildren who adored her, friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Woodhaven Rescue Farm – 6310 S 900 E Lafayette, IN, 47905, a cause close to her heart and a perfect reflection of her lifelong love for animals and her generous spirit.
