She is survived by: her children, Michael Sum, Joe Sum, Alice Kasdorf (Harry) and Chris Sum (Cindy); her grandchildren, Ashley Murray (Ryan), Margaret Perkins (Daniel), Emily Sum, Frank Sum (Kayla Sharayao), Beth Cottrell (Nicholas), Sally Sum (Carlos Garcia), Brian Sum (Sarah), Anna Sum (Wes Daniel) and Claire Sum; and her great grandchildren, Sawyer Sum, Gavin Murray, Owen Murray, Clara Sum, Liam Sum, Marcus Colledge and Thomas Cottrell.
She has expressed a request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mercy Home for Children in Chicago, a charity in whose mission she and Bill strongly believed.
