With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Byrd Bergdahl (West Lafayette, Indiana), who passed away on February 18, 2026 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Richard farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Richard is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eric Bergdahl and Esther Bergdahl; his wife Margaret Jane Wilson; his sister Carol Strough; and his nephew Scott Miller.
He is survived by: his daughter Rebecca Stuckey (John); his grandchildren, Miranda Christen (Patrick) and John "Jack" Stuckey (Ashlie); his brother-in-law Robert Strough; and his great grandchild Elliot.
