It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Rather in West Newton, Indiana, who passed away on February 10, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of David Rather to show support.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Olyne and Paul W. Rather; and his brother Paul Lee Rather. He is survived by: his former wife Kathleen Auble; his son Brad Rather (Angie); his wife Kathy Rather; his daughter Brooke Ellis (Ellis); his grandchildren, Ally Blevins, Andrew Ellis and Evan Ellis; his siblings, Jim Rather (June), Chris Rather (Roxanne) and Nancy Sauer (Rick); and his parents-in-law, Joan (Auble), Barry Hoover, Deanna Everhart (Auble) and Suzie Mathis (Auble). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

With the new instructions issued by the State allowing gatherings up to 50 people, we welcome friends to pay respects while continuing to follow social distancing guidelines and proper mask wearing.
