He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard McClain and Mary Palmer McClain; and his sisters, Menza Sweet and Rosemary O'Brien. He is survived by: his wife Marsha Frances Blanc McClain; his children, Angela Bullock, Sherri Smith (Joe), Richard Samuel "Butch" McClain, Jr. (Liz) and Scott McClain (Nikki); his grandchildren, Hunter Bullock-Evans (Ryan), Taylor Bullock (Aaron Childress), Kristof Bullock, Amanda Hopkins (Kyle), Jessica Probst (Sam), Rylie Smith, Anthony Smith, Ciara Augustus (Nathan), Sam McClain (Monica), Keagan McClain, Cogan McClain (Cheylan), Molly McClain (Jacob) and Ashleigh Harrold (Joshua); his great grandchildren, Parker, Tucker, Carter, Warner, Mason, Bryson, Kayson, Carson, Colton, Jameson, Zackary, Aiden, Gideon, Rosilyn, Mia, Wrenley, Oakley and Braxton; his brother Charles "Chuck" McClain (Denise); and his sister-in-law Janet Jones. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the West Side Christian Church (126 N 8th St, West Terre Haute, IN 47885). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 5:30 PM at the same location.
