He is survived by: his siblings, Thelma Stephens and Virgil Lee Butts; his wife Nan Marie Butts; his children, Jan Marie Forton, James Ray Butts Jr., Julia Mae Hoskins (James), Joseph Arthur Butts (Renee) and Jayne Mildred Towne (Patrick); and his grandchildren, Seth Macy (Amanda Baitz), James Butts (Billie), Travis Macy (Erin), Jennifer Pickett (Zeb), Christy Zeller (Mike), Ethan Macy (Liza), Jill Zeller (Danny), Katy Butts-Ryan (Pat), Drew Butts (Sam), Julia Towne (Zac Nazarett) and Josey Towne (Hunter Andrews). He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
