He was predeceased by : his parents, Jerry Richard and Johnsie May Tongate (Smith); and his brother Jerry Wayne. He is survived by : his wife Patricia Tongate (Messer); his sons, Jon-Paul and Jason Matthew; his grandchildren, Jordyn Leslie, Brooklynn Kelly and Paiton Lucille; his great grandchild Emersyn Quinn; and his siblings, George Daniel, Margaret Ruth and Richard Allen. He is also survived by father/ grandfather to his children & grandchildren.
