He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Townsley and Bonnie Seber Townsley Phillips; his son Shane Townsley; and his sisters, Norma Gail Stewart and Jackie Townsley Johnston.

He is survived by: his children, April Davis (Robert Woltz) of Westpoint, Richie Davis (Tana) of Lafayette, Buck Townsley of Lafayette and Kelsey Jones; his sister Diann George; and his former wife Deborah Townsley of Lafayette. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
