She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Cross and Lyda Cross (Callahan); and her siblings, Scottie, Teddy, Freddie, Blane, Jerry Cross (Joe) and Irene Walterman.
She is survived by: her husband Bernard Joseph Zapfe; her stepchildren, Jean Ann Field (Gene) of Versailles, Sherri Sommers of Greensburg, Donna Jo Byrd (Jim) of New Point and Steven Edward Zapfe (Shirley) of Greensburg; and her siblings, Jennie Moore of Shelbyville and Randy Cross of Illinois. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home (402 E Bennett St, Westport, IN 47283). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
