He was predeceased by : his parents, William 'Willie Oliver and Versa Oliver-Fields (Whitaker); and his brothers, Robert Oliver, Gregory Oliver and Michael Oliver.

He is survived by : his wife Patty Oliver (Williams); his children, Michelle Oliver-Young and John 'Johnny' Oliver (Rachel); his grandchildren, James A. Young (Amanda), Megan Messer (Trent), Mikayla Jimenez (Jonnyve), Gage Meeks, Macy Green (Seth), Jeremy Young, Autumn Oliver and Aubrie Oliver; and his siblings, Lola Klima (David), Stan Oliver (Ruth) and Sheila Busenbark. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
