He was predeceased by: his parents, George Schaefer and Grace Schaefer (DeYoung); and his sisters, Pat Hilton and Barb O'Brien. He is survived by: his wife Kate; his children, Dawn Burns (Jeff) and Michael Schaefer (Barbara); and his brother Tom Schaefer (Pat). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
