He was predeceased by : his parents, Eugene Austin and Mary Catherine McCartin (Mullen); and his brother Eugene McCartin. He is survived by : his siblings, Joseph McCartin (Suzanne), Catherine Goodale (Keith), Michael McCartin, Mary Murphy (Matthew) and John McCartin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Pipefitters Local 597 Scholarship Fund, would be appreciated.
