She was predeceased by: her husband Andy Yanas; her siblings, Evalena Tozer, Mike Smith, Jr., Howard Smith, Earl J. Smith and Ruth Snodgrass; and her parents, Mike Smith and Nellie Smith (Means).
She is survived by: her children, Kay Yanas and Donna Cafferata (Thomas); her stepgrandchildren, Paul Cafferata and Katherine Gold (Tim); her great grandchildren, Ari and Trace Gold; and her sisters, Vera Newman (Mike) and Martha Chinn (Ron).
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Baran Funeral Home (1235 119th St, Whiting, IN 46394). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Whiting Food Pantry or the Whiting "Gimme Shelter" (for pets), P.O. Box 591, Whiting, IN 46394, would be appreciated.
