He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles J. Smith and Nova Hosier (Stinson); and his brother Charles James Smith, Jr.. He is survived by : his sisters, Karen Dowler (Jerry) of Winchester and Deb Resler (Richard) of Winchester; his children, Jessica Smith Burris, Joshua Smith (Amy), Allen Segraves, Raymey Smith, Dusty Ackman and Sarah Runkel; and his fiancée Vicki Hall. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
