He was predeceased by: his parents, John V. Heckley and Alice Mae Heckley (Shoop); his brother Brent Heckley; and his grandson Jordan Heckley. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Heckley (Hahn) of Woodburn, Indiana; his children, Todd Heckley (Sue) of New Haven, Indiana, Kevin Heckley (Tiffany) of Woodburn, Indiana and Deena Hart (Jeremy) of Churubusco, Indiana; his grandchildren, Andrew Walsh (Amanda), Lanae Bowman (Jordan), Cameron Heckley (Regan), Caleb Heckley (Sarah), Taylor Heckley, Alicia Brummett (Connor), Ethan Heckley, McKenzie Hart (Brayden Simmons) and Cole Hart; and his great grandchildren, Landon, Carter, Annabelle, Conrad, Elizabeth, Claire, Juliet and Fletcher.

Preferred memorials can be given to Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn.
