With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John G Smiley of Yorktown, Indiana, born in Rushville, Indiana, who passed away on January 18, 2023 at the age of 81. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John G Smiley to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Gerald Emerson and Maxine Smiley (Walker); his sisters, Claudia Rogers, Sally Meredith, Ann Stamps and Susan Clayborn; and his stepson Randy Fields.

He is survived by : his wife Anita; his children, Staci Slavin (Steve) of Muncie and Shaane Smiley of Hickory; his stepson Scott Fields (Kim) of West Lafayette, Indiana.; his grandchildren, Lily Fields, Savannah Smiley, Jada Smiley, Chloe Smiley, Jackson Fields, Christopher Fields, Elijah Fields, Stephen Slavin and Benjamin; his brother Jeff Smiley (Kathy); and his brother-in-law David Meredith. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
