It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doris Chaput (Abilene, Kansas), who passed away on May 15, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Arthur Emery and Wanda Ellen Emery Weishapl (Woolard); her brother Gene Emery; her son Timothy Chaput; her grandson Logan Chaput; and her son-in-law Phillip Gale.
She is survived by: her husband Terry Chaput; her children, Debra (Reynolds), Terry Gale of Coffeyville, Cathy Evans of Hutchinson, Cynthia (Jay Smith), James Chaput of Omega, Michael (Helen Chaput) and Jeff (Crystal Chaput); her siblings, Larry Emery and Rhonda Sieck; and her grandson Samuel Chaput. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home (414 NW 3rd St, Abilene, KS 67410). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church (311 S Buckeye Ave, Abilene, KS 67410).
The family suggests memorials be given to the ST. Andrew's Catholic School.
