Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Richard Blackburn (Abilene, Kansas), born in Ellsworth, Kansas, who passed away at the age of 83, on December 28, 2020. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Blackburn and Dorothy Blackburn (Pohle); his nephews, Robert and Ronald Blackburn of Ellsworth; his sister-in-law Young Blackburn of Michigan; and his friends, Paul and Vicki Sampson of Wakefield.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, the Shriners Hospital or to the Abilene Food Pantry and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.

“Richard will be missed! He was my neighbor and he was always doing something kind for others. Whether visiting a sick friend or dropping off flowers to a shut-in, he made the most out of every day. Our conversations always ended with him saying "you be sure and make it a great day!". This world needs more of his kind but boy did heaven receive an angel. RIP Richard.”
