He was predeceased by: his father Phillip Fager; his stepfather Vince Cook; and his brother Stephen Fager. He is survived by: his mother Shirley Grimes Fager Cook; his significant other Nicole Zeller; his children, Jacob, Justin and Trace Fager; his stepdaughters, Stephanie Maike (Hunter) and Kylie Savage (Kyle); his grandchildren, Dylan, Tatum Fager, Barrett, Briley and Huntley Maike; and his siblings, TJ Bradford (Scott Dean), Terri Janda (Chip), Dan Fager (Kate) and Rich Fager (Lauren).

Memorials can be sent to the Joel Fager Memorial fund at Kaw Valley State Bank, 1015 Kaw Valley Park Circle, Wamego, Kansas 66547.
