He was predeceased by: his parents, John Elmer Gittins and Maude Gittins (Beatty); his son Terry Gittins; his son-in-law Vernon Naffziger; and his siblings, Edward, Mary and Dorothy.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his daughter Tammy Naffziger; his daughter-in-law Joni Wilkerkson (Brian Wilkerson) of Scottsdale, Arizona; his grandsons, Tyler Gittins of Boise and Jonathon Gittins (Anna Gittins); his great grandchildren, Alix and Reese of Seattle; his grandchild Alissa Schrack (Tony Schrack); his great grandchildren, Rosie of Texas, Sonny of Texas, Theo of Texas and Isla of Texas; and his grandchildren, Mallory Wilkerson of Texas and Brian Wilkerson, Jr. of Minnesota. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Western Way Cowboy Church (13083 Ottawa Rd, Altamont, KS 67330). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
