He was predeceased by: his mother Ava Arnett; and his siblings, John F. Runyan, Jerry W. Runyan, Cynthia K. Hammonds, Otis Runyan, Dereck Runyan, Michael Wolfe, Jamie Runyan and Amber Walters.
He is survived by: his father Melvin L. Runyan Sr.; his children, Debbie Selena Runyan, Melvin L. Runyan III, Jason Lee Runyan and Justin Lee Runyan; his grandchildren, Arianna Maria Hernandez, Carlos Daniel Vega-Hernandez and Luisa Salinas; and his siblings, Betty L. Soliz and Jimmy P. Runyan (Debra S. Shelton "Kevin"). He is also survived by his extended family and many friends.
