He is survived by: his sons, Rick Gates (Rebecca) and Randy Gates; his grandchildren, Reanna, Aiden and Alanna Gates; and his siblings, Jim Gates, Jack Gates (Janice), Joyce Kaup (Gerald) and Jerome Gates (Reta). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; other relatives, and many friends.
Viewing will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Prairie Rose Funeral Home (602 E Main St, Anthony, KS 67003). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Anthony Christian Church (817 W Wheatridge Dr, Anthony, KS 67003).
