It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Schneider (Arkansas City, Kansas), who passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph and Rita; his siblings, Sister Rita Marie, Helen, Dorothy and James; and his great grandchild Justin.
He is survived by: his wife MaryAnn Schneider; his children, Laura Hankins (late Milton), Tama Barfield (Jonathan), Amy Lawson (Douglas), Mark Schneider (Jacqueline), Ann Bono (Joseph) and David Schneider (Cecilia); and his siblings, Catherine, Corinne and Raymond. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (302 S B St, Arkansas City, KS 67005). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic School, and to the Early Bird Lions Club for Sight.
