He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schmidt and Laura Schmidt; his siblings, Charles, Alton Schmidt and Ada Sala; his grandson Jarett Wyn; his great grandchild Jonah Wynn; and his stepson Matthew LaMastres.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Sue LeMastres of Arlington; his daughters, Trina Schmidt (Wes) of Cimarron, Derby and Diana Strunk (Jeff) of Andale; his stepchildren, Susannah Struzik (Jason) of Dodge City and Doug Peterman; his sister LaVona Morrison of Arkansas City; his grandchildren, Alex Wynn (Bethany) of Harrisonburg, Lindsey Wynn of Hays and Wade Strunk of Andale; and his stepgrandchildren, Katie Struzi of Tennessee, Amanda Lozano of Spearville, Debra Ladish of Canyon City, David Peterman of Meade and Daniel Peterman of Pueblo Colorado.
