Iona L Applegate Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Iona L Applegate of Arlington, Kansas, who passed away on January 24, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles E. Colvard and Velma E. Colvard (Cole); her stepmother Viola Colvard; her siblings, Naomi Wedel, Mary Shoemaker, Martha Thiel, Edwend, Vernon and Leonal; and her son-in-law Roy Childs.
She is survived by: her children, Kim Larson (Dale) of Clay Center, Kara Childs of Omaha, NE and Kenny Applegate (Denise) of Hutchinson; and her sister Louise Fay of Hutchinson. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and many extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arlington United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
