He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward R. Lomshek and Mavis Lomshek (Clayton). He is survived by: his children, Roger (Rebecca) of Pittsburg, Eddie (Amy) of Pittsburg, Doug (Jamie) of Olathe, Karen Whetzell (Kelly) of Franklin and Debbie of Pittsburg; and his brothers, Dave of Chicopee and Jerry of Chicopee. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A rosary was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (109 E 9th St, Pittsburg, KS 66762-4043). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial suggestions be made to SPX Newman Club at Pittsburg State; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.

“During my life I had the honor of knowing uncle Steve, listen to his stories and speak to him of interests. I was never really close to uncle Steve as he kept himself busy with his own life as I was busy with mine as that side of the family isn't exceptionally close with each other but uncle Steve was one of the good ones, he never intended or attempted any harm to others and always saw his nieces and nephews for what they were, family.
