He was loved and cherished by many people including: wife: Ellen Sue Cunningham; parents: Forrest and Irene (Helean) Betschart; parents-in-law: Charley and Glenda Cunningham; son: Mike (Gloria) and Anita Johnson; son-in-law: Jerry Ellis; daughter (deceased): Brenda Mead; brothers: Tom Betschart and Ken Betschart; sister: Ruth Ann Jellison; grandchildren: Eric Betschart (Marshell Norris), Jake (Amber) Betschart, Bret Betschart, Jeston (Jhaymie) Mead, Kolton (Casie) Mead, Baylee Johnson, Cooper Johnson (Taryn Berger), Dana Bear, and Kimberly Esplund; great-grandchildren: Braxton Johnson, Jeci Mead, Jru Mead, Kaiden Mead, Rocky Betschart, Brody Betschart, Cole Betschart, Stetson Johnson, Addi Johnson, Wade Johnson, Benny Reeves, Story Bear, Skylar Courtney, and Rylan Courtney; other: Don Baker; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (512 Cedar St, Ashland, KS 67831). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
