He is survived by: his wife Jane Yaple; his son Fletcher Hiner (Kristina) of Mission, KS; his sister Nancy Jones of Atchison, KS; and his sister-in-law Cecilia Hiner of Atchison, KS.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Atchison Humane Society and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements.
