With solemn reverence, we commemorate Elmer Fangman of Atchison, Kansas, born in Seneca, Kansas, whose life came to an end on October 8, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul and Florence Fangman; his wife Anne E. Fangman (Supple) of Atchison; his daughter Patricia Fangman; and his siblings, Charles, Gilbert, Leonard, Ruth (Haug) and Esther Fangman.
He is survived by: his children, Dan Fangman (Dolly), Joan Schuster (John), Mike Fangman (Nancy), Susan Husting (Craig), Paul Fangman (Doug), John Fangman (Jo), Colleen Hubble (Les) and Matt Fangman (Kathy); and his siblings, Lester (Janet), John (Fran) and Janie Werner (Joe). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the St. Benedict Church (1000 N 2nd St, Atchison, KS 66002). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (10255 KS-7, Atchison, KS 66002).
It is hard to encapsulate his contributions to the life of the college but at various times, his responsibilities included counseling, all athletic programs, all college facilities, financial aid, student activities, health services, career planning and placement, intramural programs, foreign student programs, student publications and housing.
