He is survived by: his wife Irene "Patsy" Penning (Ernzen); and his children, Amy Rindom (Mike), Laura Denton (Shayne), Stacy Mercer (Ken), Scott Penning (Kim) and Midge Botts (Bryan). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
