Francis H. Kastens Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Francis H. Kastens (Atwood, Kansas), who passed away on May 6, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman J. Kastens and Katharine Kastens (Gansberg); his in-laws, Willie and Clara Wancura; his siblings, Wilma Kastens, Frieda Timm (Walter), Ed Kastens (Geneva), Harry Kastens (Paula), Alvin Kasten (Bernice) and Elmer Kastens (Millie); his son-in-law Tim Ehm; his great grandchild Lidia Hurst; and his siblings-in-law, Cindy Trenkle, Kevan Trenkle, Stanley Wancura, Marvin Cloe and Jack Shelton.

He is survived by: his wife Gertie Jane Wancura; his daughters, Brenda Henry (Wilbur), Lynda Hurst (Sylvester), Marsha Ehm (Jerry Miller) and Krista Simminger (Lance); his grandchildren, Michelle Carnes (Tony), April Green (Matt), Tiffanie Craig (Shawn), Tracy Doty (Roger), Jared Hurst (Jennifer), Daniel Hurst, Miranda Simminger, Keith Simminger (Gracyn) and Casey Simminger; and his sisters-in-law, Verda Wancura and Charlene Shelton. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
