He was predeceased by: his parents, George Karl and Rachel Winter (Lipps); his wife Bert; and his siblings, Marvin, Orwin, Lavern, Charles, Dorothy Tomlison, Erma Thompson, Norma Lowke and Deloris Long.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Rice (Travis) of Smithville, MO and Karl Winter (Theresa) of Augusta, KS; his sister Barbara Conyers of Wichita, KS.; his grandchildren, Whitney Havelka (Stephen) of Kansas City, MO, Rachael Adams (Patrick) of Kansas City, KS, Karli Zaldivar (Conner) of Wichita, KS, Ryan Murie (Macie) of Kansas City, MO, Chase Winter of Augusta, KS, Jessica Smith (Nolan) of Platte City, MO and Breck Winter of Park City, KS; and his great grandchildren, Mila, Benjamin, Sophia Havelka, Ollysen, Sloane Adams, Nora, Ella Zaldivar, Davis Murie and Deacon Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Southern Baptist Church (2206 Ohio St, Augusta, KS 67010). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 at the Elmwood Cemetery (501 12th Ave, Augusta, KS 67010).
The family wishes memorial contributions to be made to First Southern Baptist Church, 2206 Ohio St., Augusta, KS.
