He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Benton and Joy Benton (Green). He is survived by: his wife Sue Benton of Augusta; his children, Shelley King of Greenwood and Thomas Benton of Augusta; his grandchildren, Kyle, Mya and Alton; his siblings' children, Scott, Stephanie, Wendy, Lacy, Joey, Randy, Steve, Marc and Mick; and his sisters, Joy Pickett (Marty) and Sue Mohler (Barry). He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
