It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert E. Thissen of Augusta, Kansas, born in Kingman, Kansas, who passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Clara A. Thissen (Huelskamp) and Cornelius A. Thissen; his wife Rosella "Rose" Thissen (Gillen); his siblings, Harold, Norbert, Hank, Martin, Jerome Thissen, Don Thissen, Brother Kevin Thissen, Esther Thissen and Mary Jane Newman; and his grandson Mathew.
He is survived by : his sisters, Pat Kampling (Clancy) and Rita Marie Thissen; his children, Mike Thissen (Bonnie Shank), David Thissen (Rhonda), Scott Thissen (Kaci) and Sandra Houk (Greg); his grandchildren, Marcia Ward (John), Chad Houk, Andrea Wiles (Brian), Shanin Faulkenberry (Derick), Shaun Houk and Jackson Thissen; his great grandchildren, Tyler, Lily, John, James, Samuel, Izabella and Lexie; his siblings-in-law, Fred Gillen (Margaret) and Lorraine Yalong; and his friend Bill Martin.
