He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Eugene and Rogene Mae Smart (DeWeese); his brother Roger Smart; and his sister-in-law Jean Teter-Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Barb Smart of Augusta; his children, Brian (Jamie Smart) of Augusta and Leslie (James Frame) of Augusta; his grandchildren, Jacob Smart, Maddie Smart, Bailey Bohon and Gavin Bohon; his great grandchild Kash Barnett; his sister Martha McAdoo; his brother-in-law Jack James; his niece Stacey McAdoo; and his nephews, Matt McAdoo, Brant James and Clint Connor.

Memorial Contributions be made out to the Prairie Hills Southern Baptist Church or the Augusta Volunteer Fire Department, left in care of the Dunsford Funeral Home.
