He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Koch and Helen Koch (Hulsing); his son Ronald Koch; and his siblings, John, Francis Koch and Cecilia Koch.
He is survived by: his wife Judy A. Violand; his daughters, Angela Koch of Axtell and Jennifer Jones of Summerfield, Kansas; his daughter-in-law Janet Koch of Axtell; and his siblings, Leroy Koch (Sandy) of Axtell, Carl Koch (Jan) of Axtell, Roger Koch (Donna) of Axtell, Michael Koch (Janet) of Lindsborg, Kansas, Verita Schmitz of Seneca, Mary Kramer of Grand Junction, Edna Lackey of Kansas City, Alice Porting of Axtell, Joann Porting of Axtell, Barbara Korte of Goff and Sharon Skalla (Gary) of Beattie, Kansas. He is also survived by four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established to the Axtell American Legion or Axtell EMS.
