She was predeceased by: her parents, Stewart Johnson and Helen Johnson (Nyberg); her son Victor S. Nelson; her husband Gene Nelson; and her stepgranddaughter Melissa Mitchell.
She is survived by: her sons, Jon Nelson (Dona) of Lawrence, KS and Don Nelson (Rochelle) of Carbondale, KS; her grandchildren, Amy, Cody, Gabriel, Helen, Isaac, Lynnea, Victor Glen and Victor Robert; and her stepgrandchildren, Gary, Nicole and LeighAnn. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
