He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Lees and Florence Lees (Lowen); his sister Rozella Whaley; and his nephews, Scott and Jeff.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Bergner of Baldwin City, Kansas; his children, Kyle Lees (Karla) of Gardner and Kelly Yarnell (Lucas) of Olathe, Kansas; his sister Donna Gariss (Larry) of Santa Rosa, California; his grandchildren, Kellon Lees (Kaley), Dylan Mabrey (Madi), Riley Lees, Makenzie Mabrey, Kendall Yarnell and Zack Yarnell; his great grandchildren, Jett, Kya, Kellon Jr. and Parker; and his nephews, Mike, Mark, Mitch and Jason.
