He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Effenbeck and Ruth M. Effenbeck (Dunker); his brother Leland Effenbeck; his wife Anita Beth Effenbeck of Chester; his parents-in-law, Leslie "Bill" and Hazel Hartley; and his brothers-in-law, Max Gausman and Doyall Hartley.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Effenbeck (Julie) of Chester and Karrie Holmes (Layne) of Byron; his grandchildren, Megan Holmes-Nusz (Sheridan) of Lincoln, Brigett Mosier (Crayton) of Strang and Ashton Holmes (Renee) of Byron; and his great grandchildren, Dayne Nusz of Lincoln and Henry Mosier of Strang. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home (1322 19th St, Belleville, KS 66935). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Peace Lutheran Church (535 3rd St, Deshler, NE 68340). A burial was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at the Deshler City Cemetery (US Hwy 136, Deshler, NE).
