He was predeceased by: his parents, George Eilert and Anita Brummer Eilert; his sisters, Debbie Wilcox, Sondra Richardson and Diane Glauser; and his parents-in-law, Bob and Parthene Michels.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Michels; his children, Chad (Keri Eilert) of Salina, Sarah Eilert of Beloit and Katie (Derek Ekholm) of Windom, KS; his grandchildren, Ashlynd, Paedyn Merrill, Zoee Eilert, Makai Szalay, Ellie Eilert, Jase and Rhett Ekholm; and his siblings, Kathy Scott (Dave) of Glen Elder, Marlene Jaso of Louisville, KY, Darlene Fischer of Gardner, KS, Mary Quinley (John) of Salina, Joan Meysenburg (Bill) of Salina, Tim Eilert (Betty) of Beloit, Henry Eilert (Betty) of Mankato, Karen Kesl (Brad) of Hays and Donna Remus (Scott) of Glen Elder. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives.
Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Association or the Gary Eilert Education Fund (for his grandchildren).
