She was predeceased by: her mother Maureen Barnes; and her son Matthew Allen. She is survived by: her father Ray Barnes of Kansas City, KS; her daughters, Kayla (Michael), Kacee and Kinzi Barnes of Kansas City, KS; and her siblings, John Barnes of Kansas City, KS, Rae Ann Armstrong (Tim) of Shawnee, KS, Debbie Houston of Kansas City, KS and Jen Bock (Wendall "Big Bock") of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, and her three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Kidney Fund in Karen's memory.
