He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie "John" E. Lewallen and Janita L. Lewallen (Kirkpatrick); his siblings, John Lewallen and Joy Kirkpatrick; his father-in-law Keith Austin; and his pet Monte.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Austin; his children, Jade Lewallen and Lida Howard (Mitchell); his granddaughters, Aria and Winsley Howard; his sisters, Jana Lewallen and Lori Bowser; his mother-in-law Patsy Austin; and his siblings-in-law, Brian Austin and Kelly Bettles (Clint). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to the Steve King Foundation, as Jay was an avid supporter and fan of all things racing, in care of Minnis Mortuary, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
